- 200g lean minced beef
- 1 small onion, peeled and diced
- 1 medium carrot, peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic purée or 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon bouillon powder
- 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
- 1 large can (400g) chopped tomatoes
- 75g porridge oats
- 200ml water
- 450g spaghetti
METHOD
- Dry-fry the mince with the onion, carrot, garlic, bouillon powder and mixed herbs until the mince is browned.
- Add the tomatoes, oats and water and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes with a lid on until the meat and vegetables are cooked.
- While the Bolognese is cooking, boil the spaghetti in water until tender , and then drain.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over the pasta.
