Rice pudding with raisins

Spaghetti Bolognese

Serves 4




INGREDIENTS


  • 200g lean minced beef
  • 1 small onion, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic purée or 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon bouillon powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs 
  • 1 large can (400g) chopped tomatoes 
  • 75g porridge oats
  • 200ml water
  • 450g spaghetti



METHOD


  1. Dry-fry the mince with the onion, carrot, garlic, bouillon powder and mixed herbs until the mince is browned.
  2. Add the tomatoes, oats and water and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes with a lid on until the meat and vegetables are cooked.
  3. While the Bolognese is cooking, boil the spaghetti in water until tender , and then drain.
  4. Serve the Bolognese sauce over the pasta.
